Job Description:

Seeking a skilled Construction Quantity Surveyor and Estimator for industrial projects. This role offers the chance to join a dynamic, fast-growing field with international exposure. Responsibilities include construction costing, estimation, BOQs preparation, rate analysis, pre-construction planning, GMP preparation, project closeouts, variations, billings, and client management. Flexible hours with a 9am to 6pm core schedule. Ideal for detail-oriented professionals with excellent analytical and communication skills, ready to work on global projects in a flexible, remote setting.

 
Responsibilities:
General and Task Management:
  • Conduct thorough reviews of project drawings to prepare and submit Requests for Information (RFI).
  • Execute detailed quantity take-offs for various elements according to specified measurement standards.
  • Develop and organize Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for diverse trade packages.
  • Create detailed cost breakdowns and establish unit rates for project elements.
  • Analyze proposals, specifications, and documents to produce accurate cost estimates.
  • Compile and refine tender documentation, including terms, scope of work, drawings, BOQ, and specifications.
  • Contribute to the creation of comparison statements and assist in the development of technical and commercial evaluation reports.
  • Monitor design and construction changes, adjusting estimates accordingly and reporting on cost variations.
Relationship Management:
  • Maintain effective collaboration within the team and demonstrate strong communication skills.
  • Engage with project stakeholders, providing crucial cost information and support to management.
  • Ensure alignment of supplier quotes with project estimates and requirements.
  • Offer cost estimation guidance during the change process and communicate the financial impact of modifications.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to refine estimates, resolve issues, and achieve cost optimization.
  • Facilitate project meetings, aiming for adherence to target timelines for project deliverables.
  • Leverage experience to recommend best practices in all processes and procedures.

Requirements:
  • Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (BE/BTech) is mandatory. A Master’s degree (MTech/ME) in a related field is highly desirable.
  • Professional Experience: Candidates should have 3 to 10 years of experience in quantity surveying, or over 10 years of relevant experience in the construction industry.
  • Location: This position is based in Goa, with options for hybrid or remote working arrangements.
  • Technical Proficiencies: A strong preference will be given to candidates with proficiency in Auto-CAD, MS Projects, Primavera, MS Excel, and Bluebeam Revu.
  • Additional Qualifications: Previous involvement with projects based in Europe or the USA will be considered an advantage.
  • Skills:
    • Must be able to interpret technical civil engineering drawings.
    • Should have a thorough understanding of construction rates and standards.
    • Must possess excellent communication skills.
    • Experience with spreadsheets, estimating pricing models, and cost management tools is ideal.
    • Familiarity with various methods of measurements (NRM, POMI, CESMM, SMM7) is essential.
